Sibley County Historical Society and Museum/Henderson, MN
Visit Historic Henderson
We Can’t Wait to See You
The Sibley County Historical Museum is easy to find, situated in the little town of Henderson, which is a one hour drive from Downtown Minneapolis
or half an hour from Mankato. Henderson is nestled in one of the most beautiful segments of the Minnesota River Valley. It is just a few miles west
of U.S. 169 via MN Highway 19. In addition, the Minnesota Valley Scenic By-Way (Sibley County #6 from the north and MN 93 from the south) passes
through Henderson. For travellers from the Cities, the Scenic By-Way is accessed at the intersection of MN 25 and Sibley County #6, a few miles north
of Belle Plaine. From Mankato, access the By-Way at the intersection of U.S 14 and 3rd Ave. There are, of course, other access points along the route.

Henderson has a well-developed historic district, many festivals, numerous classic car roll-ins, etc. Nearby, travellers can enjoy an extensive
zip line development, kayaking opportunities, a visit to the fabulous Nye Nature Center, and hiking or picnicing in High Island Creek Park
or Rush River Park, both hidden gems. It is a delightful and easy day trip from the Cities or Mankato.
